Sobre Ana

Olá! My name is Ana — I'm from Portugal but have been living abroad for the past 6 years (4 years in Boston and 2 years in London).
I hold a Master’s degree in Finance and an MBA from MIT.

I've always had a strong interest in foreign languages: I’ve studied Italian, French, and I’m currently learning German. Having learned several foreign languages myself, I understand what really matters when it comes to mastering a new language.

I've been teaching my partner to speak Portuguese for the past 2 years, and I also have prior experience teaching Maths to secondary school and university students. Teaching is something I’m truly passionate about.

Book a trial lesson with me so we can talk about your goals and how you'd like to learn. I’d be happy to help you on your journey to learning European Portuguese!

Sobre a aula

I will tailor our classes to your level and goals — whether you're a complete beginner, an intermediate learner, or an advanced speaker looking for conversational practice.
Whether you're aiming for fluency in everyday life or need the language for business or work, I will adapt the content to suit your needs.

I typically follow a textbook appropriate to your level, structure each class around a specific theme, and ensure it includes speaking, reading, and listening. Practice makes perfect!

Ana was my Maths tutor for over a year, and she is a fantastic teacher. She’s very organized, explains concepts clearly and simply, and makes lessons engaging. I really appreciate how she tailored exercises to my needs, which helped me learn faster and stay motivated. Highly recommend!

Ana has been teaching me Portuguese for the past two years. In that time, I have progressed from a complete beginner to being able to understand and hold a conversation with locals on visits to Portugal.

Ana is an excellent tutor. She is structured (working from a textbook) but willing to tailor lessons to focus on particular areas I am struggling with or want to focus on. She provides exceptionally clear explanations and truly makes learning the language fun. I can't recommend her enough :)
