Sobre Ekaterina
My name is Ekaterina and I am a teacher of Russian as a foreign language. In spite of the fact that the teaching profession was not my main professional activity until recently, I've been dreaming about teaching Russian for a long time. And, having finished the Russian as a foreign language course in the Center of the Russian language of the Moscow State University, I now with huge pleasure teach Russian to foreigners.
And now a little more about myself. I was born in Ukraine, grew up in Latvia, studied in Ireland, worked and lived in Moscow for 13 years. But recently I have left my stable job in a law firm in Moscow, my usual way of life and moved to Lisbon, closer to the sun and the ocean.
As an experienced traveler and someone who has lived in several countries and studied different foreign languages, I know how important it is to find a teacher who inspires, supports, encourages and doesn't embarrass!
I always loved my mother tongue (Russian, if you haven't guessed yet because of the complicated geography of my life), its beauty and versatility, complexity and contradictions. And also, I sang in a folklore ensemble for many years and studied Russian traditional culture, therefore I can not only teach you to speak, but also to sing in Russian!
And now about whom, actually, I want and can teach. The answer is simple - everyone. I adore children and find a common language with them quite easily. And of course, I'm happy to work with adults of any age, because it's a luxury to teach those who are motivated and engaged in the process! No matter your level, I will tailor a program exactly to your needs and help in the areas that need the most help.
I can also help with pronunciation for vocalists to perform musical numbers. No, well, maybe you've always wanted to sing an aria of Tatyana from Tchaikovsky's opera "Eugene Onegin", and I am the right person to help you properly pronounce «рассудок мой изнемогает» (my mind is dying out)!

My methodology is based on two great books for studying Russian as a foreign language named "Poekhali" and "Russian souvenir". I also use various materials and tools like Miro map, Kakhoot and Quizlet to make my lessons more fun and interactive.
