Sobre Wei
Born and raised in Guangzhou, China, and having lived in the UK, Switzerland, and Portugal, I've experienced different cultures firsthand. As a native speaker of Mandarin and Cantonese, fluent in English, and a learner of German and Portuguese, I know what it's like to be on both sides of the language-learning journey. I understand the challenges and rewards of learning a new language and connecting across cultures.
I enjoy helping people discover the Chinese language in a practical, approachable way. With experience teaching in a Chinese school and interpreting in public services, I have developed patience, adaptability and an appreciation for clear communication.
As a parent of multilingual children who speak both Cantonese and Mandarin at age 5 and 3, I have personal experience with raising children in a multilingual environment and supporting their use of Chinese in everyday life. This has given me a deeper understanding of how languages can be learned and maintained naturally through daily communication.
Everyone learns differently, so I aim to create a relaxed and supportive environment, so you can learn at your own pace, ask questions and build confidence.
Whether you're curious about Chinese culture, planning a trip, or simply want to start learning a new language, I'd be happy to help you get started!
