Sobre Patrícia
Olá! I'm Patrícia, a Portuguese teacher from Lisbon with a background in linguistics and a genuine passion for languages. I'm even learning one from scratch myself, so I know first-hand what it feels like to start from zero.
I've been teaching European Portuguese to adults from all over the globe for the past couple of years: expats settling in Portugal, digital nomads working from Lisbon, travellers, refugees and asylum seekers building a new life here, or simply people who fell in love with the language.
My approach goes beyond grammar rules and vocabulary lists. I believe you truly learn Portuguese when you start to understand the culture behind it — the way people greet each other in a neighbourhood café, the humour in everyday conversations, the rhythms of daily life in Portugal. Each lesson is tailored to your goals, using real-life materials that reflect how Portuguese is actually spoken.

My classes are designed for adult learners at any stage, including complete beginners starting from zero. My goal is to take you from your first words to confident, real-life interaction in European Portuguese.
Lessons cover all language modules: grammar, speaking, listening, writing, pronunciation, and cultural context. But no two students are the same, so your goals and preferred learning style always shape the plan.
Classes are conducted in English to start with, gradually giving way to Portuguese as your confidence and skills grow.
Between sessions, we'll use a shared Slack channel to keep lesson notes, extra materials, cultural suggestions, and your progress all in one place.

I met her through a friend, her way of teaching is amazing. She always comes up with an example to teach each topic and even though you make many mistakes, she has the patience to correct you and give more clear overview. She's the best Portuguese teacher I ever got!
