Sobre Peter
I am a Taiwanese and Japanese American, originally born in California. For many years, I lived in the beautiful city of Seattle in the Pacific Northwest of the United States before moving to New Zealand to marry my wife. I received my CELTA training and certification in New Zealand and worked for English language academies before moving to the wonderful city of Lisbon in mid-2025.
When I'm not teaching, I am often drawing or painting as I am a practicing artist and illustrator. I have also practiced martial arts since I was very young, from boxing and judo to tai chi. I also love to read and you can usually find me reading two or more books at the same time. Of course, as someone born in the 80s, I also love to play video games and I often play co-operative games with my wife.

I am available to teach remotely or on site within the Lisbon area. I use Linguahouse as well as real-world texts and speaking prompts to give you both a well-constructed curriculum and relevant subjects.
I am familiar with American, British, New Zealand, and Australian English and can teach you the differences in vocabulary, slang, and accent between them.
Whether you want to focus on grammar and vocabulary, writing, or just conversation, I can help you. I have experience in teaching all aspects of English for all ages and skill levels.
I have two Masters degrees and I am CELTA certified. I have also worked as a private tutor for students for many years which means I am familiar with the demands that life places on language learners.
