Sobre Mateus
My name is Mateus, I’m 24 and moved out of Bahia, Brazil with my family to live in California when I was 14 years old. I went to high school, learned English and experienced the American culture in its fullest before going back to Brazil. Few years later a decided to have a different experience and move to Europe, where I currently live in. Traveling around and meeting different people, I learned to be a good teacher when helping my foreign friends to speak and articulate phrases in Portuguese. After being told a few times to pursue a career as a teacher, I started to see this as real opportunity for myself and for others who need an easy and relaxed way to learn the language. So I started studying and improving my techniques to provide the best service I can offer to help you go from nothing to “tudo em um piscar de olhos” (everything in a blink of an eye)!

The goal of my classes is to teach the basics that anybody needs to know to communicate in Portuguese, using fun techniques to improve pronunciation and have a better understanding of the language. Brazilian Portuguese is the best gateway to speak Portuguese, as it is known to be the easier to understand and it is useful in any Portuguese speaking country.
