Sobre Jacobus
I´m not a native speaker and don´t consider that as being problematic. It´s important of course to know the language you teach very well but it´s just as important or even more important to be able to teach the language. I´m Dutch and I´m regularly asked to teach my own language but every time I have to say "Sorry, I really can´t" I know my own language but I´m unable to teach it. How many native Portuguese are able to teach their own language to foreigners?

I am a graduate in English, pedagogy and philosophy. After a full-time training for 6 years to become a teacher of English I started teaching and at the same time I started a career in pedagogy and philosophy at the University of Nijmegen. In 1986 I went to Barcelona, continued teaching English and started studying Spanish at the Escuela Oficial de Idiomas. I have now been teaching English for over 30 years and I still enjoy doing so. The contents of the classes depend on your interests, on what you need English for and of course on your level.
