Sobre Álvaro
12 years’ experience on teaching Portuguese as Second Language at the several levels of the language, from A1 to C2. Available for private or maximum 2 students' classes.
Proficiency in English, Spanish, Italian and French.
Classes consisting on different aspects of the language (reading, writing, communication, grammar) as well as Portuguese/ Brazilian culture and History.
Teaching since 2013, I've already spread the Portuguese language to hunderds of students, from all over the world.
The vast majority of my students had great improvement on the language level and for those who had their first appoach on Portuguese, they surely showed the will to continue studying.
I teach at the University of Porto and I have post-graduation (Masters) in Portuguese as Second Language, as well as PhD in History.

Learning a language is all about your will to learn and the teacher's qualification and skills.
My background is in Communication (bachelor), teaching of Portuguese as Second Language (master) and History (PhD). A diverse education gave me a broader perspective on the language.
One of my favourite subjects is Psycholinguistics and the theories regarding active learning, learning by tasks and project.
One of my strongest motivations for teaching is to be able to somehow change people’s lifes by allowing them to immerse into Portuguese language and culture. Learning a language is like gym to your brain.
