Sobre Conor
I know what it takes to learn a language. I moved to Brazil without being able to speak or even understand the language. I had to learn from scratch. I had to pay attention and listen so that I could take it in and process the information. It was a bit tiring because it was all day, every day. But I stuck in there, even when I felt like giving up after three months because I felt like I just wasn't learning. It was frustrating. Something told me to be patient and to have no fear.
When learning a language, or learning anything for that matter, it is fundamental to remember that you cannot hold back, you cannot hold back from your learning experience. Holding back means not expressing yourself freely and naturally for feeling shy or embarrassed to make a mistake. Mistakes are important to make when you are learning. We learn from our mistakes. If you are not willing to make a mistake then you will delay the learning process and not enjoy it as much as you could if you were open and trusted in the learning process. Learning anything requires one to practise it with persistency and presence.
Eu sei o que é preciso para aprender uma língua. Mudei-me para o Brasil sem poder falar ou mesmo entender a língua. Tive que aprender do zero. Eu tinha que prestar atenção e ouvir para que eu pudesse assimilar e processar a informação. Foi um pouco cansativo porque era o dia todo, todos os dias. Mas eu permaneci lá, mesmo quando senti vontade de desistir depois de três meses, porque senti que não estava aprendendo. Foi frustrante. Algo me disse para ser paciente e não ter medo.

Hello, dear students!
What a pleasure it is to introduce myself to you and share a little bit about who I am and what I enjoy doing. With over six years of living in Brazil, in the countryside of São Paulo state, and working as a Language Teacher, I have come a long way. I started my career off working in one language school for two years where I managed my own groups of students and accompanied them with their progression over this period. I am accustomed to using Teaching Content such as NGL: Life, Keynote, Headway, among others. I know what is required when teaching. I am an extremely attentive person and really care about producing the best of my ability and get the best out of my students as I truly care about their learning, and I always yearn to strive and learn and grow as a person and as a professional. I have always had very diverse classes as I have taught groups of all sizes, 1-1s, and also kids, from the age of 4 to a grown adult. In the private classes that I give, which are mostly directed towards practising speaking skills, I personalise the classes when my students are at an advanced and fluent level. At the beginning stages of learning a language from scratch, it is necessary to follow curricula. As a private tutor, I assign extra work to practise their reading, writing and listening skills out of class hours. A bit about me: I am fluent in Brazilian Portuguese, I dance, I sing, I play guitar.

Que prazer me apresentar a vocês e compartilhar um pouco sobre quem sou e o que gosto de fazer. Com mais de seis anos morando no Brasil, no interior do estado de São Paulo, e trabalhando como Professor de Línguas, percorri um longo caminho. Comecei minha carreira trabalhando em uma escola de idiomas por dois anos, onde gerenciei meus próprios grupos de alunos e os acompanhei em sua progressão ao longo desse período. Estou acostumado a usar conteúdos de ensino como NGL: Life, Keynote, Headway, entre outros. Eu sei o que é necessário ao ensinar. Sou uma pessoa extremamente atenciosa e realmente me preocupo em produzir o melhor da minha capacidade e tirar o melhor proveito dos meus alunos, pois realmente me preocupo com o aprendizado deles, e sempre anseio por me esforçar e aprender e crescer como pessoa e como profissional. Sempre tive aulas muito diversificadas, pois ensinei grupos de todos os tamanhos, 1-1s, e também crianças, desde os 4 anos de idade até um adulto. Nas aulas particulares que dou, que são maioritariamente direcionadas para a prática da oralidade, personalizo as aulas quando os meus alunos estão num nível avançado e fluente. Nos estágios iniciais de aprender uma língua do zero, é necessário seguir os currículos. Como professor particular, atribuo trabalho extra para praticar suas habilidades de leitura, escrita e compreensão auditiva fora do horário de aula. Um pouco sobre mim: sou fluente em português brasileiro, danço, canto, toco violão.
