Sobre Joe
I taught English for 1 year at Instituto Chileno-Norteamericano in Santiago, Chile. During that time I worked with classes of 3-10, teens and adults. In Santiago I also gave in-office classes for buisness English, to students in the fields of telecommunication, construction, retail, and insurance.
Prior to this, I worked as an English tutor mostly with foreign students at my University in the United States for several months, editing and advising on written composition and oral presentations.
I have a passion for language and am TEFL certified.

My methodology is not centered on grammar, but rather I focus more on engagement, conversation, practicality, and fluidity. Overall, using language as a tool for communication. When planning and creating lessons, I take into account my student's individual goals and interests. Depending on the level, the class will consist mainly of speaking activities with vocabulary and grammar support as needed. I regularly incorporate media and games in my classes to keep students engaged and allow them to have fun with English.
