Sobre Nelson
I am a dedicated educator with a unique background as a dentist, which has provided me with exceptional patience, clear communication skills, and a methodical approach. My six-month high school exchange in Canada was pivotal, immersing me in an international environment where I first experienced teaching Portuguese to friends and host families. Fluent in English (C1), I bridge the gap for learners effortlessly. My true passion lies in empowering students to navigate real-life situations in Brazil with confidence and ease, drawing from my own journey of cultural exchange.

My teaching approach is patient and empathetic, focused on creating a joyful, stress-free learning environment. I utilize a communicative method, backed by language acquisition science, which prioritizes practical, real-life conversation from day one. We will focus on the Portuguese you really need: from making genuine friends and social connections to handling emergencies and urgent situations like at a pharmacy or hospital. My dentistry background trained me to break down complex topics into simple, digestible steps. These lessons are ideal for travelers and expats who have a pressing need to communicate effectively and navigate life in Brazil with confidence.
