Sobre Natalie
Olá!
My name is Natalie, I'm Brazilian, from Rio de Janeiro and I'm a Portuguese teacher for foreign students since 2014. I studied education, specialized in Portuguese for foreigners and I am passionate about my work. Other than Portuguese, I speak fluent French and English. I also speak basic Spanish and Arabic.
I taught students of various nationalities, which makes the lessons full of cultural exchanges and a great introduction to the Brazilian diverse culture. I worked 7 years outside Brazil teaching Portuguese to foreigners (adults and children), I taught in language schools in Rio de Janeiro and private lessons online.
I also studied drama, I worked as a storyteller for kids and during the kid’s lesson I use puppets, gadgets and children's books. Playfulness and fun is a fundamental part of the lessons.
I love traveling around Brazil, discovering new landscapes, music and food.
Brazil has a remarkable diverse culture and you will discover part of this beautiful culture in the lessons.

Lessons are online, you can study from anywhere in the world!
We will start talking in Portuguese during our first lesson! We will discuss your needs, your goals and your commitment level so I can customize the lessons upon that. We will talk a lot about Brazilian culture and I will use art and fun activities to facilitate the learning process.
During the lessons, students will have the opportunity to make conversations, listen to pre-recorded dialogues, to write texts and practice reading, always with a communicative approach. The idea behind this approach is to help learners communicate more effectively and correctly in realistic situations that they may find themselves in. Thus, the content of the lessons will be selected upon the student’s interests .
Since 2015 I have been an accredited examiner of the Certificate of Proficiency in Portuguese for Foreigners (CELPE-Bras), the only certificate of proficiency in Brazilian Portuguese as a second language officially recognized by the Brazilian Ministry of Education. If the student chooses to run the CELPE-Bras, I have all the material to prepare for the exam.
