Sobre Gabriel
I have worked in translation, proofreading and interpretation for almost 20 years, and have been working as a Portuguese teacher for over 6 years, teaching mainly professional football players and staff, as well as executives from several companies and teams when relocating to Portugal.
I am extremely perceptive and attentive to detail, reason for which I prefer in-person lessons compared to online, as the perception of the student's needs, interest and engagement is heightened.
My key skills are boosting confidence, accelerating the process of communicating orally through several hacks, as well as accent correction / pronunciation improvement, and including cultural information about the country in the lessons, as a way to better connect to the language.

I have a natural preference for face-to-face lessons, but I will gladly teach online if needed or preferred. I believe that learning should be fun, light and intuitive, and that’s what I try to achieve with each lesson – my students’ happiness and ease at learning.
Besides having a native speaker level in English and of course, Portuguese, I am fluent in Spanish, German and Italian, and I also have a decent level in French, although it’s a bit rusty.
The lessons can be taught fully in Portuguese from day one if you are in for the hardcore immersive approach, or we can use English, Spanish, German, Italian or even French as a transitional language for basics during A1-A2 levels, slowly replacing these with full Portuguese, as some students do feel more confident during lessons if they have support in a transitional language.
