Sobre CECILIA
Hello! My name is Cecilia, and I am a Brazilian scientist and a native Portuguese speaker. I speak English fluently and love sharing my language, my culture, and my passion for Brazil with people from different backgrounds.
I am currently pursuing my dream of completing a PhD in Brazil, researching ways to grow plants for future space exploration. It is an exciting scientific journey, but doctoral research also brings financial challenges, especially when scholarships are not yet secured. Help me fund my PhD, and I will teach you Portuguese!
I would especially love to welcome mature learners and older adults who want to make a friend overseas, are curious about Brazil, are planning a trip, or simply enjoy learning something new. We learn Portuguese while talking about life, explore Brazilian music and culture, and enjoy the learning process together.

Whether you are preparing for your first trip to Brazil or Portugal for tourism or business, exploring a new hobby in retirement, or simply curious about the Portuguese language, I would be delighted to help you discover the joy of speaking Portuguese.
I help students develop their language skills through everyday conversations, practical examples, interactive exercises, and authentic Brazilian cultural materials.
I use English as the main language of instruction, allowing English-speaking students to understand explanations clearly and feel comfortable asking questions.
Rather than relying solely on textbooks and grammar exercises, I focus on helping students use Portuguese in real-life situations. I introduce grammar and vocabulary progressively and in context, making them easier to understand, remember, and apply.
