Sobre Salomé
I am a PhD candidate in Comparative Literature, currently waiting for my viva. Mu primary training is in literary and artistic studies. I am confident I can help students with academic English - especially so in the context of Portuguese academia. I have worked as a freelance translator in the past, including subtitling for major media outlets. Because I received my Certificate of Proficiency in English at 17, I am sensitive to the complexities of mediating between both languages and their quite disparate cultural contexts. Finally, my poetry has been published in both languages.

I provide academic supervision and assistance with standard English language curricula. I am also willing to customise individual lesson plans according to students' particular needs and areas of interest, with a strong emphasis on ease of communication. Finally, I draw from a wide variety of textual materials (ranging from literary texts to mainstream media) to allow for a comprehensive engagement English speaking in the everyday.
Note: my academic specialization is within the fields of English and Comparative Literature, and I am well-versed in theoretical debates surrounding race, gender, and sexuality. As a result, I am more than happy to help students inquire into these particular areas of interest,by incorporating them into individual lesson plans.
