Sobre Alex
I am a specialized Portuguese teacher for foreigners, with over a decade of experience in higher education.
My academic background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Social Communication, a Master’s degree in Visual Arts and Culture, a specialization in Portuguese for Foreigners, and a Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL). This solid and interdisciplinary foundation allows me to create dynamic, creative, and culturally rich lessons.
Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with students from diverse backgrounds and with different goals. This diversity is what truly inspires me. I strongly believe that learning a language is also about discovering new ways of seeing the world.
My lessons focus on practical, clear Portuguese, always connected to Brazilian culture. More than teaching rules, my goal is to help you communicate with confidence in real-life situations that matter to you.

Exposure is also key: I integrate diverse materials such as texts, audio, and video, while encouraging you to continue learning beyond the classroom.
Each lesson is dynamic and adapted to your learning style, combining practical activities, cultural insights, and communication strategies. I follow a “Portuguese as an Additional Language” approach, valuing your previous linguistic and cultural knowledge as part of the learning process.
