Sobre Marina
Hi, I am Marina and I am a business administration student from Brazil, I was born and raised here and my native language is portuguese. I am an extrovert, I love getting to know new people, I am very outgoing and I love having a good conversation!
I love traveling and getting to know different cultures, I am very intrested in geopolitics, in my free time I really enjoy watching tv shows and listening to music.
During High School I did an exchange program to the United States, where I lived in Vermont with an amazing host family, went to a regular public school and made so many friends. That expirience taught me how important it is to learn how the natives actually talk, because I had been studying english for so long, yet when I got to the US I had a really hard time understanding everything. Because of the speed, the slangs, the accents is not something that you learn in a traditional langage course, so I would love to help you not go trough that with portuguese.

My classes are all about beign able to actually use portuguese with brazilians. As a brazilian myself is safe to say that the formal language (the one taught in all of the traditional language learning books) is rarely used. The diferent accents all around the country, the speed that the natives talk all of the slangs makes learning portuguese the traditional way almost impossible to be functional.
My classes are focused in conversations, so you can get used to how the language sounds like and you can practice your speaking and pronounciation. The classes will also teach you vocabulary, it can help you improve your reading and writing skills and its all about your personal goals with the language.
I will always advise on starting the classes with an exercise to improve any skills you may want, than I will give you a feedback and we can get to the most important part of the class, the conversation.
Its completly up to you how much time you want to spend on each part of the class. The classes are tailored to each student individually, that is the level of portuguese and the students interests.
