Oi pessoal!
Let's use psychology tricks to achieve your full potential speaking Portuguese in a fun (and scientific ;-)) way!
My name is Ana and I'm a psychologist living in Brasilia, the capital of Brazil. I'm passionate about applying behavioral and cognitive studies to our everyday life, for example when learning a new language!
In my academic experience I have lived abroad to study in Canada and in Italy, which gave me a good level of English (C2 certificate) and Italian (B2 certificate). So I can teach Portuguese by communicating in both languages. I also know a little bit of French and Spanish (A2).
I’m a big traveler and I have teached people from different cultures in the way, from children to the elderly. Learning a new language opens up a new world that we didn’t know existed before! In Brazil we are rich in different styles of music, good cinematographic productions and culture as a whole. Let’s use these, and other elements, to make our classes dynamic and fun! :)

In our classes we will use resources like quizzes (for language level assessment and for fun challenges!), grammar foundation + exercises, and a content review plan, all based in scientific studies to improve your language acquisition and retention!
I’m suited to teach in the following specialties:
- Introduction to Brazilian Portuguese and Brazilian Culture:
If you have never spoken Portuguese before and love our music, cinema and culture in general, we will learn the basics of Portuguese in a fun and dynamic way! using your personal interest to make the foundation of our classes. We will start with the basics and progress to more advanced studies according to your pace and development!
- Conversational portuguese:
If you’re traveling to Brazil, moving for family or job related-issues and already have a basic level of understanding, we will plan conversational centered lessons, so you quickly improve your speaking skills :)
- Academic and Business:
If you need to improve specific vocabulary for academic or job purposes, we will build a plan focused on your field. I have extensive experience doing research in the academic field and have worked in the following fields: Tech, HR and management, and Health.
- Lessons for Children and Teens:
If you want your child to learn Portuguese in a relaxed and fun environment, I will assess your goals and their personality to build a studying plan that works for everybody! I have worked with children before, both in babysitting and school tutoring :)
As a psychologist, I believe everyone has different ways of learning and goals to achieve when starting with a new language. Having this in mind, we will discuss these matters in our classes and come to a course plan together, reviewing it from time to time and adapting it to your level of Portuguese and your objectives.
