Amazing teacher! I learnt etchings and did Life Drawings at Mary's studio. It was a wonderful experience, highly recommended!

I have known Mary for more than 30 years, and was a student of hers for about 10 years. She knows and can teach, she taught me, a wide variety of art techniques, including oils, drawing, and watercolour, as well as how to chose subjects and present works of art. We went to different places to draw or paint, the beach and forest and Mary showed me how to look at what was in front of me and choose what to draw or paint.

I go to Mary's classes every time I am in Portugal. I love going there because of her brilliant ideas, the way she approaches the teaching and how well she guides and motivates everybody. I have learnt a lot from her and am still learnig. Also, Casa do Celeiro has a beautiful setting. You can't ask for more.

Mary is a fantastic teacher! She gives clear instructions, has a lot of patience, comes up with great ideas for the students to work on and is very professional. Her studio is a nice space to work in and the classes are always fun and interesting. Highly recommend her classes

Mary is the most encouraging, empowering teacher. I started taking classes with her many years ago, and then started going to a life drawing group that she coordinates. She makes even complete beginners (as I was) feel like artists from the very first lesson. She creates a community of artists that her students get to be part of.
